ID700 is a professional-grade hybrid FM/waveshaping software synthesizer that draws its voice architecture from the renowned Buchla 700 synthesizer.

With the ability to run in standalone mode and as an AUv3 plugin on popular platforms such as Logic Pro, GarageBand, AUM, and Cubasis 3, ID700 offers versatility and convenience to musicians and producers.

HISTORY

In 1987, Don Buchla introduced the groundbreaking Buchla 700 synthesizer. A natural progression from his previous digital synths (the Buchla 400, Touché, and Buchla 500), the Buchla 700 incorporated elements inspired by the synth trends of the 1980s, including FM synthesis and the concept of an all-in-one workstation. Despite being ahead of its time, the Buchla 700 unfortunately did not gain widespread popularity. Today, only a handful of functional units exist. Driven by an appreciation for the distinctive sound produced by Don's digital oscillators and the rarity of the original instrument, ID700 was developed as a software emulation with the intention of reintroducing its concepts to the world.
